Felicity gently rubbed her finger alongside the feathers of one of the friendlier owls held at Hogwarts. The little hoots it made in enjoyment let a soft smile form upon her lips. With all that's been happening it was nice to find a simple place to escape from it all. Sure, you have the smell of feces along with it but it was a pretty deserted spot, except during the holidays. That was when these little owls worked their butts off delivering their owners letters. Poor things. Felicity sighed and took a seat on the bench as one of the owls hopped over to her so it could get its turn to be petted.
Such needy creatures. Constantly wanting attention. But then again, humans were similar. Felicity wanted attention, and preferably for that attention to last longer than one night. She wanted to have someone that could bring a smile to her face and for her to bring a smile to his. She had that a couple times before, but it never lasted. Perhaps third times the charm? Doubtful, considering she was still young.
Felicity made an annoyed face at the train of thought she was having. Way to sound like a stupid, love possessed teenage girl. She hated it. If only she could forget about guys and just focus on something she loved and could always depend on. Quidditch. That was it. Who needed guys when you have quidditch. The worse thing quidditch could do is almost kill you with injuries, but hey, it was a lot better than dealing with emotions. Physical wounds are always better.
Speaking of wounds. Felicity let out a pained gasped as the owl bit her. "Stupid bird." Felicity muttered before sucking her finger that was now bleeding. Notes: Sorry for any mistakes. Wrote it on my phone >_<

Justin made his way slowly up the winding staircase leading up to the owlery. His parent's being muggles really had no way of contacting him unless he sent them an owl first, so he made a point to write them at least once a week. Plus it amused him to see how many owls would swoop down when they saw him coming knowing that his mother tended to spoil whichever owl she received. She had always had a soft spot for animals, birds included it would seem. He had to do little more than clear his throat as he approached the last step and a few birds were quickly swooping in is a flash of feathers and hoots.
He laughed aloud as a particularly tiny owl put up quite a fight to gain his attention that it startled him a bit to see that he was not alone and he shooed away most of the birds, choosing an owl that seemed to be fairly well behaved compared to the rest and he stoked it's rich mahogany feather while racking his brain for the girl's name. Felicity.. he thought after a few seconds."You ok there?" The words sounded forced and he did his best to plaster a smile on his face to cover up his hesitation. They were in the same year and had plenty of classes together, but he's never actually spoken to the girl, at least not directly.

The blonde haired female looked up at the voice, she was too preoccupied with the shock of being bitten that she didn't notice another individual come in. She removed her finger away from her face before giving a slight nod to the guy. "Yeah, I'm fine." Felicity answered as she studied him a bit. He looked familiar. Probably in the same year as her. It still surprised her that after six years there was still people she didn't know their names too. But she must have heard his name before. She thought quickly, thinking back to her classes and the names of people in them. Ah, there it was, she hoped. She gave him one of her soft smiles. "You're Justin, right? Sorry, I'm really bad at names." Felicity asked with a nervous laugh. Her intent was to not make it awkward for them, but it seemed she was failing, or was it just her?
Her eyes drifted from his face to the mahogany owl accompanying him. Perhaps if she had not just been bitten by one she would ask to give attention to the bird, but now she was just apprehensive about the entire situation. No fault to yhe bird, he seemed well trained and behaved. Felicity just didn't want to be bitten again. Why did the silly bird bite her anyway? She thought she was petting it correctly. Maybe it was trying to bring her our of her thoughts. If that was the case, she should really think the bird.
She should also think the mahogany owl. He could help bring up conversation with Justin so it's not as awkward. "So, is that your owl? Felicity asked shortly after her comment about her handicap with names and being bad with them. Figured owls were a good conversation starter since they were in an owlary after all. Notes: Sorry for any mistakes. Wrote it on my phone >_<

Somehow the other girls nervousness seemed to make him relax a bit. It was probably the fact the he knew he wasn't alone in his feelings of awkwardness. He found himself smiling now, seeing this as an opportunity to make a new friend more than anything else. He liked being on good terms with everyone and for the most part the gryffindors were pretty friendly. A little foolhardy at times, but friendly nonetheless.
"We'll obviously you're not that terrible since you got it right, but yeah, that's me." He said still smiling as he continued to stroke the birds feathers. He had to look at the bird for a brief moment as the question didn't register right away but he looked back up after only a slight hesitation.
"Wha..? Oh, nah. Foul tempered cats are more my thing." He said jokingly as he thought about his own jerk of a cat back up in his dorm. "I just needed to send a letter to my folks." Saying t allowed reminded him of why he was up here in the first place and he set about tying the note to the birds leg before watching him takeoff.
"So.... Did you come up here for the view or do you just enjoy being nipped by owls on a routinely basis?" He meant it as a joke but it sounded kind of lame once he'd said it and he had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at himself.

She smiled at his comment on cats. "So a cat man then? Like a cat lady, except... well, a man." Felicity finished with a nervous laugh. Wow, her awkwardness was showing really. She suddenly found an interest in the ground as she couldn't bring herself to look up at him after that horrible statement. Maybe one of the birds should just bite her head off to take her out of this embarrassment. Unfortunately for her, all the birds seemed preoccupied with their own lifestyle, whatever it is they did. It looked like they were biting themselves, it was probably cleaning though, Felicity deduced.
At his question Felicity let out a slight as she looked back up at him with a smile. "Believe it or not, I actually came up here to think. Though, the view is amazing." Felicity said as she stood up and walked over to one of the windows, placing her hands on the windowsill and looking out at the scenery. The heat was starting to be replaced by the cool winds of fall. Speaking of wind, a gust blew into the window, blowing her blonde hair back as she released a giggle, looking back at Justin and the owlrey. Seeing the birds stir as the wind impacted them. The owlrey was still one of her favorite places after all this time. It gave her solitude when she needed it, minus the occassional visitor, like today. But she didn't really mind the intrusion today. From what she could recall Justin wasn't that bad of a guy. Like most reavenclaws, they never seemed to get in trouble, complete opposite of Gryffindors at times. It was a wonder why they haven't won the house cup a majority of the time. They probably got the best marks out of everyone in the school.
Slytherins were always being bullies, Gryffindors were always doing things they weren't suppose to, Hufflepuffs were too friendly for their own good, and Ravenclaws should be the gem of the school. The ones who set the standards everyone else wished they could meet. Felicity always admired that about the ravenclaws. Sure, occasionally you would run into a snobby one or two who thought they were better due to the abundance of knowledge they have acquired, but those were the rare ones. Most cases, ravenclaws were the most normal out of everyone in the school and Felicity kinda liked that about their members. Notes: Oh hey, a post not made on my phone. Enjoy I love reading Justin, he is so interesting.

At Felicity's comment Justin gave a look of mock horror before breaking back into a grin and laughing lightly. "Although that might be interesting, I think I'll stick with cat as in the singular. Wouldn't want to start develop a stigma and hurt my chances with the ladies." He said waiving her a sly wink before turning to look out at the view himself, his thoughts now in sudden turmoil.
Smooth, Justin, real smooth.. He wanted to kick himself all of the sudden and hoped she wouldn't think too much into it. He could he such a moron at times. Shaking his head slightly and letting out what he hoped was an inaudible sigh he forced himself to smile again.
"It is rather nice." He said looking out over the vast grounds now. For a second his thoughts began to drift but the sound of giggling brought him back to reality and he gave her a genuine smile now. He liked the sound of her laugh, though looking at her now her earlier words registered and he wondered if he was intruding on her alone time. She was probably just too nice to say so, plus he had delivered his letter anyway. Now he was just lingering. "Should I leave you to your thoughts then?"
ooc: sorry, I got caught up with my other site.

She shook her head before turning her attention towards him. "No, I enjoy the company. Usually between studying and practicing quidditch, I hang out with the same people all the time. I enjoy meeting new people." Felicity replied in total honesty. It wasn't that she had anything against her friends. Yelena had been there for her more times than she could count. She was a great friend to have in almost any situation. But, eventually the conversations became repetitive and the nomial tasks of the friendship more boring. Felicity wanted excitement. She wanted something new, and maybe creating a new friend through Justin would grant her that opportunity.
Though, Ravenclaws weren't commonly known for that attribute of not being boring. That was a stereotype though and Felicity felt pretty sure that not every member lived up to the stereotype of their house. There could be a really friendly Slytherin who was lazy, or a rude Hufflepuff, granted all the ones Felicity have met had been nice. "So, what do you do in your free time?" Not hang out in the owlary Felicity presumed. No, that was her. Her little awkward, weird thing she did from time to time. Certainly he did something fun, or played jenga in the commonroom, Felicity heard that was a common game played by all the people clad in blue and silver. notes: Sorry, got slammed in my summer class
