Edmund rather be doing anything but school work. Okay, so sometimes he did do work, but it depended whether or not he actually had interest int he subject. Sure, he knew OWL year was upon him and all that stressful stuff, but right now he didn't want to think about it. That being the case, he found himself on the sixth floor, in one of the empty classrooms. He remembered finding this room in first year. He had been snooping around the hallways when he was supposed to be doing work at the library. Then he came across something kinda odd. Odd, but he was so grateful for it. There was a random, spare classroom with a piano in it. Maybe it had to do with it being on the same floor as the Muggle Studies room. Who knew, but for whatever the reason, it just made Ed's years at Hogwarts a bit more bearable. He was able to continue playing. Over winter break, a few weeks after he realized that he could get into the room (or just Alohamora it open), he asked his dad put a extension charm on one of his bags and hauled his music with him to school.
Not many people, save his family, Rhia, and Rose, knew he played. He usually sound proofed the door with the Muffliato charm so he wouldn't be disturbed, but there was always those couple of times that he forgot to. Besides, that was only a precaution. Not many students wandered this far down the hallway. It was pretty far along, away from the used class rooms. It was the hall way with Muggle Studies and Ancient Runes for gods sakes! Only so many people would be interested (or crazy, if he was talking about Ancient Runes) enough to take those classes. Without much thought, he sat down at the piano and just started playing by memory. The first song that came to his mind was "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. He had learned it for Ryan's birthday last January. Soon after that, Rose found him playing it. They got together for a few months, but apparently it wasn't working, so they called it off. Since then, he hadn't played the song. He guessed playing it now indicated he was over it... whatever it was. Either that, or remembering. He wasn't sure.
