personality;; Jo is what most would consider, trash... Cockney through and through. Though surprisingly she is smart, shes always has been. Science was always a love of hers, she would encase herself in books for months without glancing at the outside world. She is anything but Artistic or musical, she couldnt play an instrument to save her life but she can recite pie to a thousand places. In her classes she excels, though you wont ever catch her on a broom. She loves to develop new spells and potions without so much as a second thought of the consequences, explosions are not rare. Magic wise she is often practicing outside of Hogwarts, showing little care for the rules. Personally she is a little strange. Jo has a temper that has gotten her into trouble numerous times, she never learnt when and where to stay quiet. Surprisingly for such a small girl her bite can be just as bad as her bite, physical fights have never been beneath her. She was described as a ball of fury by her last foster family before they gave her up. Jo finds it hard to trust people, but once she does she will become instantly loyal to the point where she finds it hard to see past loyalty and blindness. Despite all this, Jo is good with a heart of gold, simply buried under a few layers.

history;; Jo was always unwanted since before she was even born, a young muggle falls pregnant to a random man at a club... There was only so much she could handle. Upon realizing she was pregnant the woman took the necessary steps to ensure the child had the best life possible. Adoption. The nine months past and the family was lined up to take the baby girl to their happy home, the day of the birth however surprised everyone. Twins. The family who had been processed and were ready to take their new daughter home decided one child was enough and the children were split. The mother, who had initially intended on finding another family for the boy was forced to keep him until that family was found, by the time candidates were lined up -though short- she had already fallen inlove with the baby. Jo however, was long gone.
The first few years of her life were good, though she doesnt remember it... She was happy and healthy, the miracle baby for the couple who couldnt have children. Well, who thought they couldnt have children. By the time Jo was two her adoptive mother fell pregnant, now her new family were career minded muggles, one baby they could handle, get a Nanny, have the first five years off then return to work when the baby was in school, everything was planned from schools, to universities, to career path... The other baby was not. Jo was excited when she found out she was to be a big sister, she always wanted a sibling... She didnt know at that time, she wouldnt be. One child was the plan, and if her new parents had to pick one, it was going to be their own.
Jo was sent back into the system. The first in a long line of foster homes were nothing special, a couple with four children already who seemed to be only in it for the money... Jo would cry, she would scream and she would beg to go home, until her noise became too much and they sent her back. With each new family or home she was put into she aged, little by little she became less and less appealing until she knew there was no hope of having a family now, so she buried herself in books. She was nine, anti-social and angry. No one wanted that. By the time she was eleven she was ready to take on the world, that is until she was given a letter and an entire new world was introduced to her.
Magic. This was the life Jo could never have imagined, she loved her books but they were never fantasy only ever science. Tradition. At first she didnt even believe the letters, she thought one of the other children in the group home were pulling pranks once again, but no the letters came... She did attempt to tell the carer of the home about her letters, but she was ignored, pushed aside and told to stop joking. So she packed up her things in the dead of night, -and some not so much her things- and left to find platform 9 3/4. She did meet other people, other children and other parents who helped her, she was given second hand robes, and books... Some of the things she had packed she sold for money she had never seen, to buy herself one item. A wand. It was surprisingly, love at first sight. Hundreds of boxes sat behind the counter, all unnamed. When the man asked what sort of wand she was interested in, the girl pointed to a box with the number 352 written on it. The wand itself was not overly powerful, Ponderosa pine with a Acropa coral core, but it seemed to be what the wand represented that she fell inlove with. The man behind the counter told Jo that Ponderosa pine could grow and flourish without any help, without water, or rain, it could grow in the harshest environments. This was her wand.
Jo's first year went... To be expected. She had acquaintances, not so much friends. It wasnt until her forth year when she started putting her hair into dreadlocks did she get attention. Most was not positive. Slytherin she found to be a nasty group, she ignored it to start with... That didnt last long. Holidays were no better, she lived in a girls home where children came and went, adopted out, sent into foster families but never her, of course Jo knew she could have told an adult at the school, she had years to get to know them, it wouldnt even have been hard but the thought of asking for help made her recoil. She did make some muggle friends -who were quite impressed with her magical abilities, next to godly in their books. The fact that her friends consisted of unloved street urchins, some older that had been living in dumpsters, or homes... Jo liked an underdog. Those people tended to judge the least, they were all in the same ship, those people and her.
By Jo's 15th birthday she had made one best friend. His name was Dagger, at least twenty years old but it was hard to tell, he was skinny, pale skin, covered in sores and scars, he had aged in his short life thanks to a substance abuse, but he was nice. He gave Jo her first tattoo, he liked to call it a shell but Jo was more specific... It had to be a nautilus shell, a spiral shell... That represented the Golden Ratio, the belief that the numbers that follow the path of that spiral, infact made up everything... Dagger called her a nerd but did it none the less. He was good. It looked perfect.
The year that followed Jo didnt do much, she studied, she created a spell, a potion or two in the girls bathroom -leaving at the first sign of damage- she kept to herself for the better half. Holidays came around once more and she left to go find her friend, disappointed to hear he hadnt been to his usual shelter in months. Once again she was alone, but not unhappy.
